Not the best of days for Shenfields various XI’s with 3 defeats, 1 win and a postponement to boot.

After the EOL Reserves games fell foul of the local precipitation in Bishops Stortford it was left to the remaining sides to carry the Blue flag.   The Williamson Sisters took the EOL 1st XI to in form Catholic looking to inflict something of a shock on their hosts in Essex Premier Cup quarter final. Sadly it wasn’t to be as they went down 5-1 to their Premier league counterparts.

The Vets A gave leaders Little Thurrock Dynamos a scare as they lost out by the odd goal in 9 with Martin King and Dan Walker both grabbing a brace.

Mark Tarpletts Vets B got back to winning ways as they dispatched Leigh Ramblers 4-1 at Fortress Drive with Dan Kirby (2), Alex Smith and Steve Holt on target for Shenfield.

Finally accusations of skulduggery were rife after John Hendersons Geriatrics were beaten 3-0 at the hands of Horndon Res’s who were accused of filling their ranks with 1st team players. Or was it that Shenfield failed to identify a stand in keeper of the same quality as Mark Cantwell  or Steve Flowers.
